Lathe works
I love creating on the lathe. Turning wood and resins can be extremely satisfying (and sometimes a little frustrating). You always know what the wood looks like on the outside but sometimes the inside rewards you with surprises.

This nativity is inspired by the work of the artisans in the Erzgebirge region of Germany. I love the simplicity and elegance of each piece. As you can see, each character is made from multiple species of wood and no stains or dyes are used. This has quickly become a customer favorite.

I love to find a reasonably straight log with some character to make these snowmen. They are all one piece except for the nose and arms and I don't use any stains or dyes on these as the wood color and grain should be allowed to speak for themselves.

Woodjam Workshop LLC Incense smokers, inspired by the German Erzgebirge craftsmen, are a delightful addition to your home and are a cherished part of German Christmas traditions. They traditionally depict workers like miners, peddlers, bakers, woodworkers, etc. The body lifts off and you light an incense cone in the metal cup inside. Once burning and giving off smoke, you replace the body and the smoke trails out of the characters mouth. Video of working smoker.

My Christmas trees are really fun to turn and there are many possibilities for shapes and decoration. My favorite is the Santa tree and many of my customers love to order Santa trees in the colors of their favorite schools and sports teams!

The wine glass snack plate makes it possible to carry your wine and snacks in one hand as the plate has stepped portions on the bottom to fit the opening of several styles of glasses - wine, beer, iced tea, etc. When outdoors, they are handy for keeping bugs away from the rim or inside of your glass. These are made of a variety of hardwoods and are finished like a cutting board for easy cleaning and care.

French rolling pins come in several lengths and diameters depending on preference and/or purpose. These can be made from any tight grained wood. I don't use stains or dyes in these utensils. The colors you get are the natural color of the wood used.

Spice mills are great tools to have in the kitchen and on your table. I use Crushgrind mechanisms which adjust coarseness from the bottom. This allows for better looking tops that are more comfortable to use. The Crushgrind mills can handle pepper, salt, and other spices.

This handy kitchen helper opens bottles on one end and lifts and pulls can tabs on the other. The ends are stainless steel and are threaded into the handle so they can be removed and cleaned when necessary.

These bottle stoppers are perfect for wine bottles, some liquor bottles, and oil and vinegar bottles. I only use Niles stainless steel stoppers with nitrile O-rings. The stoppers are threaded so they can be removed for cleaning when necessary.

Like many others, I started my lathe work making pens/pencils. I still enjoy making fine writing instruments for those who appreciate handwriting. From click pens to high-end fountain pens, I can make them all. There are too many styles to post here. If you are interested in a pen, please email me and let's get it just right!

Kolache press - used to make the indention for the filling. Made of hardwood and cared for like a cutting board or rolling pin.

Old fashioned string throwing top. It's easier than you think and they are lots of fun!

I love to make gnomes. The possibilities are endless and it is a great use for the small offcuts from other projects. Every home needs a gnome!
